Elsewhere

I’m either at home or elsewhere. That can encompass a lot. When in Europe, I immerse myself in the history, art and culture. But given a choice, I’ll take the road less traveled—usually by bicycle.

 Some of my wanderings include:

  • Cuba: 65 miles per day for two weeks, from Santiago de Cuba to Havana

  • Borneo: exploring the interior jungle

  • Tasmania: biked it like a devil

  • Myanmar: encountered generals, monks, dissidents and the oppressed over 950 miles

  • Elko, Nevada: the trails of my youth

  • Australia and the outback: beautiful and unforgiving

  • New York City: and lived to tell the tale

  • Bentonville, Arkansas: strangely enough, no greeters

  • Galapagos Islands: no biking, just birds and iguanas

  • Antarctica: no biking, just penguins and ice

  • Viet Nam: no biking, just the Montagnards in 1967
