Elsewhere
I’m either at home or elsewhere. That can encompass a lot. When in Europe, I immerse myself in the history, art and culture. But given a choice, I’ll take the road less traveled—usually by bicycle.
Some of my wanderings include:
Cuba: 65 miles per day for two weeks, from Santiago de Cuba to Havana
Borneo: exploring the interior jungle
Tasmania: biked it like a devil
Myanmar: encountered generals, monks, dissidents and the oppressed over 950 miles
Elko, Nevada: the trails of my youth
Australia and the outback: beautiful and unforgiving
New York City: and lived to tell the tale
Bentonville, Arkansas: strangely enough, no greeters
Galapagos Islands: no biking, just birds and iguanas
Antarctica: no biking, just penguins and ice
Viet Nam: no biking, just the Montagnards in 1967
